<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when power supply to an interface controller such as a USB is cut in a power saving mode of a printer, communication error is displayed on a screen of a printer state display tool of a host due to a communication failure. <P>SOLUTION: The printer does not immediately enter the power saving mode even if a power saving mode condition is established, and actually enters the power saving mode after reporting the transition to the power saving mode as a status of a command for a host computer to periodically acquire a state of the printer. On the other hand, the host computer forcedly continues, upon receipt of the report of power saving mode transition from the printer, to display the power saving mode even if communication is disabled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
