PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pyrazolinone derivative represented by the formula (3) in an excellent reaction selectivity in a high yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing a compound represented by the formula (3) comprises reacting a compound represented by the formula (1) with a specific acyl halide compound in the presence of a base in water and an organic solvent.
