PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a brake liquid pressure to a liquid passage continued to the other when a liquid passage continued to one of a front part liquid pressure chamber and a rear part liquid pressure chamber of a slave cylinder is failed even at any of normal time and abnormal time in a BBW type brake device. SOLUTION: The slave cylinder 23 is provided with rear part and front part pistons 38A, 38B, and a rod 54 forwardly extending from the front part piston 38A is penetrated through a partition wall 51 of a cylinder body 36 and is abutted on a rear end of the front part piston 38B. Thereby, even at the normal time when braking is performed by the brake liquid pressure generated by the slave cylinder 23 and even at the abnormal time when the slave cylinder 23 is failed and braking is performed by the brake liquid pressure generated by a master cylinder, when any one of the liquid passages Pc, Qc continued to a wheel cylinder is failed, the brake liquid pressure is fed to the wheel cylinder through the other and fail/safe function can be exhibited.
