PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a width in a first direction of a head unit from being large, and also to suppress a degradation in image quality. SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting apparatus is equipped with (a) the head unit, and (b) a moving mechanism. The head unit has a plurality of heads 41 in the first direction in which a plurality of nozzles for ejecting a liquid to a medium are arranged in the first direction. The head unit ejects the liquid while moving relatively to the medium in a second direction that intersects the first direction. The width in the first direction of the head unit is larger than a width in the first direction of the medium. The moving mechanism moves the head unit relatively to the medium alternately in the second direction and the first direction by a plurality of the number of times. (c) A raster line group is formed by making two or more different nozzles respectively eject the liquid, thereby forming each raster line while making the moving mechanism move the head unit relatively to the medium alternately in the second direction and the first direction by the plurality of the number of times.
