PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection apparatus capable of highly accurate inspections despite a simple constitution, having a high inspection efficiency while curving inspection costs, and capable of detecting abnormal distortions of resins which are hardly visible, and to provide an inspection method. SOLUTION: The inspection apparatus of resin molds includes: a light source for irradiating a resin molding with inspection light; a polarizing means arranged in the traveling direction of the inspection light; an imaging means for imaging interference patterns generated by the passage of the inspection light through the polarizing means; and an analytical means for analyzing at least one of distortions, the shape, and the exterior appearance of the resin molding on the basis of the interference patterns. The polarizing means has at least a first polarizing means arranged between the light source and the resin molding and a second polarizing means arranged between the resin molding and the imaging means.
