摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which can perform a speed reduction with an optimal inclination of speed reduction acquired from the information on printing contents and position. SOLUTION: With the thermal printer, two or more line data printed by a thermal head are memorized in n line data storage section 23. A head strobe signal is issued by a head strobe signal formation section 28 for every line data. The printing speed corresponding to the head strobe signal is computed by a printing speed calculation section 29 for every line data. When the printing speed lower than the present printing speed exists in the printing speeds of each line data computed, the inclination of speed reduction for making the speed reduction from the present printing speed to the speed lower than the present one is computed by a speed-reduction inclination calculation section 30.
