PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of easily performing a screen processing even when the head specification of a printer is changed, and to provide an image forming system. SOLUTION: A screen processing module 7 includes: a lead signal generating section 11; an address creating section 12; an output generating (threshold value comparing) section 13; an LUT value selecting section 14; and a process switching signal generating section 15. In addition, a memory 8a for 1-Bit (8Bit)LUT value and separate memories 8b to 8d (memories 1 to 3) for storing three threshold values for processing 2-Bit system screen are provided as storage means. The process switching signal generating section 15 generates a signal for determining Bit to be used for the screen process.
