A negative electrode is provided to suppress the analysis of electrolyte while improving the capacity of battery by forming a film containing iodine acid salts on the surface of a negative active material. A negative electrode comprises a negative electrode collector(22A) and a negative active material layer(22B) installed at the negative electrode collector. The negative active material layer has a plurality of negative active material particles(221) including at least one kind of simple substance silicon and tin or a compound, and a film(222) where at least a part on the surface of the negative active material particles has iodine acid salts.
