<p>A handover system between heterogenous networks and a method thereof are provided to convert a data packet buffered by an HA suitably for communication standards when handover into a heterogenous network occurs during transmission of the data packet. A mobile communication terminal(10) requests handover to the second visit network(30) through the first visit network(20). An MIH(Media Independent Handover) server(60) determines handover to the second visit network. An HA(Home Agent)(50) transfers the data packet transmitted to a home address of the mobile communication terminal from a contents providing server(80) to an FA(Foreign Agent) of the visit network. The mobile communication terminal transmits the second CoA obtained from the FA of the second visit network to the HA after handover. And the mobile communication terminal requests MIP binding update. The MIH server requests data packet buffering to the HA so that a data packet transmitted to the mobile communication terminal is buffered in the contents providing server during handover. The HA transmits the buffered data packet to the mobile communication terminal through the FA of the second visit network.</p> |
