<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile water-based paint and a coating formation method for forming a coating film with little metallic mottling and excellent flip-flop property and smoothness. <P>SOLUTION: The automobile water-based paint comprises a hydroxyl-containing resin, a viscosity-regulating agent, and a hydrophobic solvent. The viscosity-regulating agent is a copolymer of a monomer mixture comprising (meth)acrylic acid (salt), monomer represented by the general formula (1), wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen or methyl, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, R<SP>4</SP>is 8-24C hydrocarbon group, and n is an integer of 3-60, alkyl (meth)acrylate having a 1-4C alkyl moiety, and a monomer having at least two polymerizable unsaturated groups per molecule. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
