PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationalize a desired magnetic circuit for the flux of a magnet. SOLUTION: The axial gap motor comprises a rotor 11 rotatable about the axis O of rotation, and first and second stators 12A and 12B arranged opposite to the rotor 11 from the opposite sides of the axis O of rotation. The stators 12A and 12B consist, respectively, of annular yokes 21a, 21b, and teeth 22a, 22b projecting toward the rotor 11 in the direction of the axis O of rotation at positions of every predetermined interval in the circumferential direction of the yokes 21a, 21b, wherein the circumferential pitch of a plurality of teeth 22a of the first stator 12A is set equivalent to the circumferential pitch of a plurality of teeth 22b of the second stator 12B, the circumferential width of the teeth 22a of the first stator 12A is set wider than the circumferential width of the teeth 22b of the second stator 12B, and the slot width L1 of the first stator 12A is set narrower than the slot width L2 of the second stator 12B.
