PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and high-performance coil component and its manufacturing method, which enhance the reliability of the coil component, by forming a metal layer having bondability and corrosion resistance in one surface of an electrode which forms a coil pattern. SOLUTION: The coil component comprises an insulating resin composed of a photosensitive resin, and a coil portion built in the insulating resin. One surface of the coil pattern 102 composed of metal forming the coil portion is covered with the metal layer 110 composed of gold, silver, palladium, platinum, tin or nickel.
