PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can suppress increase in man-hour required for processing a shaft member, and can suppress falling-off of the shaft member from a holding member in the axial direction. SOLUTION: The video camera 100 (imaging apparatus) comprising an X-Y stage 32 mounting a CCD 31 for photographing an object, a Y stage 33 for holding the X-Y stage 32 movably in the X direction, a slide shaft 80 fixed to the Y stage 33, sensor sections 90b and 90c fixed to the Y stage 33 and having a light emitting element and a light receiving element, and a connecting portion 90d for connecting the sensor sections 90b and 90c to face each other while spaced apart by a predetermined distance, is further provided with a transmission optical sensor 90 which regulates falling-off of the slide shaft 80 from the Y stage 33 in the X2 direction as the end 80b of the slide shaft 80 in the axial direction abuts against the connecting portion 90d.
