<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support extraction of a cause of occurrence of variance by narrowing down useful correlation rules from a huge correlation rules even when the number of cases is small in the variance analysis aiming at the effective improvement of a clinical path. <P>SOLUTION: This variance cause filtering system is configured to cause factor order attributes as the cause of variance by a cause order attribute extraction means 105 by using the data of an electronic medical record database 102 and the data of a variance code database 104. At the same time, a correlation rule describing the cause of variance is generated by a correlation rule generation means 107 by using the data of an electronic medical record database 102. Then, the abstraction of the correlation rule generated by the correlation rule generation means 107 is processed by a correlation rule abstraction means 109 by using cause order attributes extracted by the cause order attribute extraction means 105.
