INSULATION RESIN COMPOSITION, INSULATED CABLE AND OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation resin composition which has excellent flame retardance, heat resistance and weatherability and gives an insulation material with a controlled lowering of the volume specific resistance after it is submerged in water while maintaining the strength.

SOLUTION: The insulation resin composition contains 70-320 pts.mass of magnesium hydroxide surface-treated with both a phosphoric acid ester compound and a silane coupling agent having a vinyl group and/or an epoxy group to 100 pts.mass of a resin component which is composed mainly of a polyolefin resin and/or an ethylenic copolymer and/or an acrylic rubber and contains a vinyl acetate, a (meth)acrylate and (meth)acrylic acid in a total amount of 31-66 mass% in the resin components.
