<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide casting refractory for molten metal treatment which is capable of suppressing over-sintering and the propagation crack and suitable for easily judging the length of life in the casting refractory used for the molten metal treatment. <P>SOLUTION: In a mullite based casting material using alumina cement as a binder, it is preferable that fine powder of ≤75 μm occupies less than 35 wt.%. The casting material preferably contains ≥60 wt.% and ≤90 wt.% mullite based raw material, ≤20 wt.% silicon carbide raw material, ≥4 wt.% and ≤9 wt.% alumina cement and does not contain an expandable raw material represented by sillimanite based mineral such as andalusite and kyanite and further >4 wt.% and <7 wt.% stainless steel fiber and/or stainless steel particles are preferably externally added. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
