摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road-to-vehicle communication system which can accurately support a driver to drive safely even if a vehicle is tilted in a pitch direction. SOLUTION: The road-to-vehicle communication system is provided with an onboard device 2 for a vehicle that travels on a road R and an optical beacon 4 equipped with a light emitter/receiver 8 with a communication area A set at a specified range of the road R and is a two-way communication system using light signals between the onboard device 2 and the light emitter/receiver 8 of the optical beacon 4 in the communication area A. The optical beacon 4 is equipped with a communication control section 7 which transmits downlink information 36 which includes information on a distance related to distances L1-L4 between starting points P1-P4 that corresponds to the driving position of a vehicle C at the time uplink information 35 is transmitted and a specified position P0 on the downstream side of the starting points P1-P4 to the light emitter/receiver 8. The onboard device 2 is equipped with a tilt detecting means 33 which detects the tilt of the vehicle C in the pitch direction when the uplink information 35 is transmitted and a distance recognition section 30 that obtains the distances L1-L4 by correcting the distance information based on the detected tilt.
