PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To axially position a needle bearing supporting a journal of a control shaft of a variable valve train at a journal support part while simplifying a structure of the needle bearing. SOLUTION: Since the needle bearing 67 is axially positioned by using a flange shape thrust regulation part 19g provided on the journal 19b of the control shaft 19 and making an end edge of the retainer 72 of the needle bearing 67 abut on the thrust regulation part 19g when the journal 19b of the control shaft 19 is rotatably supported at the journal support parts 61, 62 by the needle bearing 67 comprising an outer shell 73, a large number of needles 71, and a retainer 72 retaining the needles 71 as one unit, it is not necessary to provide a turn-back part abutting on an end part of the retainer 72 and axially positioning the needle bearing on an outer shell 73, miniaturization, weight reduction and manufacturing cost reduction of the needle bearing 67 can be materialized.
