PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for improving convenience of a portable telephone and a wireless LAN adapter for making both a portable telephone and an IP telephone available. SOLUTION: In an IP telephone, when the wireless LAN adapter 2 is installed to the portable telephone 1, an MM interface part 11 of the portable telephone 1 is separated from a portable telephone processing part 12 and, by connecting it to an IP telephone processing part 22 of the wireless LAN adapter 2, the MM interface part 11 of the portable telephone 1 is made available. At the same time, when the wireless LAN adapter 2 is removed from the portable telephone 1, a normal telephone is made available by connecting the MM interface part 11 of the portable telephone 1 to the portable telephone processing part 12. At the same time, by connecting the IP telephone processing part 22 of the wireless LAN adapter 2 to an additional service providing part 25, an incoming call via an IP telephone network 5B to the wireless LAN adapter 2 is processed.
