PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the droplet drying method of a droplet discharge device which can carry out the in-air drying of droplets while planning the energy efficiency of a laser and the droplet discharge device. SOLUTION: When looked from a droplet discharge head 20, belt-shaped irradiation light Le, from the +X direction, is made to irradiate to cross a part directly under each nozzle N in the space between a substrate and a nozzle plate. The timing of the droplets discharged from each nozzle N is made different, the droplets discharged from each nozzle N, without the irradiation light Le being interrupted by other droplets, the irradiation light Le is terminated, are irradiated.
