The invention relates to a method for forming an organic pigment, the pigment being dry pulverized in the presence of an arylsulfonic acid condensation product having sulfonate groups and at least one aliphatic aldehyde having 1 to 6 C atoms as a crystallization modifier, the mixture of the pigment and crystallization modifier thus obtained being dispersed in mineral acid, and the pigment being allowed to swell in the presence of the crystallization modifier in mineral acid.
