Classes 20(3) and 20(4) A draught excluding strip, beading or moulding for attaching to a supporting flange 1, Fig. 1, comprises a continuous clip 5, or a series of clips, of U-shape enclosed in a covering of flexible material 7 and provided with inwardly and upwardly inclined tangs 11 for frictionally gripping the flange 1. As applied to a draught excluder for vehicle doors, an effective portion 2 is integral with an attachment portion 3, the latter having an inwardly directed lip 4 at one end and being stitched at the other end 8 to the woven fabric 7. The clip 5 is formed as a continuous length and has staggered slots extending inwardly from opposite edges to allow the strip to be bent around curves of small radius. The inwardly extending tangs 11 bent out of the clip 5 grip the flange 1 and tangs 10, 10a, running parallel to the length of the clip and bent out therefrom, perforate and secure a turned over end 9 of fabric 7 and the portion 3 respectively. In a modification, the portion 2 is omitted and the covering material 7, which forms a beading or moulding, has turned over ends 9 on each side of the flange 1, the tangs 10a being inwardly directed. In a further form, Fig. 8, the covering 7 is formed of rubber or other soft, resilient material and is secured to the clips 5 by tangs 13 therein piercing the covering 7 in a recess 14 covered by parts 15. In a modification, Fig. 9, the tangs 13 and recess 14 are formed on one side of the strip and the parts 15 form a draught excluding seal. One or both edges of the covering 7 may be turned inwardly and upwardly around the opposite edges of the clip 5. In any of the embodiments the clip 5 may be replaced by a plurality of similarly shaped short clips in spaced or end-to-end relationship, or thin steel piano wire may be bent into zig-zag formation so that when it is finally bent into U-shape it will be similar to the continuous clip 5, the wire being bent or crimped inwardly and outwardly to form the tangs 10, 10a and 11.
