Compositions containing a nopal cactus isolate and method for making same

Disclosed is a nopal composition comprising a water soluble isolate derived from nopal pads of the opuntia genus, wherein said isolate contains a higher concentration of phytonutrients compared to the concentration of phytonutrients naturally found in the juice and water soluble fractions of said nopal pads and wherein said isolates substantially free of active cellulase enzymes.
