<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive heat pump water heater. <P>SOLUTION: This heat pump water heater comprises: a heat pump unit including a heat pump cycle; a hot water storage tank 1; a first water circuit 50 connecting the upper and lower parts of the hot water storage tank 1, the first water circuit 50 including a boiling reheating exchanger 2 for heat exchanging with bath water, and a first three-way valve 20; and a second water circuit 51 for connecting the upper and lower parts of the hot water storage tank 1, the second water circuit 51 including a water refrigerant heat exchanger 9, and a second three-way valve 19. The first three-way valve 20 is connected to the second three-way valve 19. A circulation pump 18 is provided between the first three-way valve 20 and the second three-way valve 19.
