<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce color irregularity caused when an observation direction is changed by suppressing variation in spectral distribution with respect to change in projection angle θ of projection light. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device includes a substrate, a semiconductor light emitting element die-bonded to the substrate and operative to emit primary light, and a wavelength conversion section which covers the semiconductor light emitting element and operative to absorb the primary light and emit secondary light. The wavelength conversion section is formed by dispersing a phosphor in a resin and has a shape of a truncated pyramid which is trapezoidal in a longitudinal section, and a side surface of the semiconductor light emitting element is enclosed with an inclined plane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
