<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing device and a self-diagnosis method for a data processing device, which can detect a failure more reliably and more accurately. <P>SOLUTION: A microcomputer 100 comprises a CRC operation circuit 10 for performing a CRC operation of data processed by a CPU 1, a ROM 2 for storing an expectation 2A of the operation result by the CRC operation circuit 10, and a CRC operation action control circuit 13 for controlling the action of the CRC operation circuit 10. The CPU 1 compares the operation result with the expectation 2A to detect a failure. The CRC operation action control circuit 13 stops the operation by the CRC operation circuit 10 when a request for interrupt handling or DMA transfer is made in the microcomputer 100, and resumes the operation by the CRC operation circuit 10 when the interrupt handling or DMA transfer is finished. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
