PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus improved in the quality of an image formed by making white and black stripes so as to make inconspicuous without forming an unevenness in an entire part where image forming areas overlap with each other. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 is equipped with a recording head unit 120 for forming the image on a recording media WK. The recording head unit 120 is equipped with recording heads 121-124 constituted of two short recording heads 121a-124a and 121b-124b for every discharging ink color. The short recording heads 121a-124a and 121b-124b are arranged such that at least parts of their image forming areas overlap with each other, respectively. A controller 130 for controlling an actuation of the image forming apparatus 100 makes joining lines C<SB>121</SB>-C<SB>124</SB>positioned differently for each of the recording heads 121-124, and which join images G1 formed by the short recording heads 121a-124a, and images G2 formed by the short recording heads 121b-124b.
