PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a fine working between electrodes such as a source and a drain or among wirings at a suppressed manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A thin-film active element has a translucent substrate 102, light-shielding source/drain electrodes 108 and 110 formed on the substrate and translucent source/drain electrodes formed on a plane forming the light-shielding source/drain electrodes and arranged while holding a gap between the light-shielding source/drain electrodes. The thin-film active element further has: a channel layer formed in the gap among the light-shielding source/drain electrodes and the translucent source/drain electrodes; and a gate electrode applying an electric field to the channel layer formed in the gap.
