PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-directional input device wherein thickness of the device itself can be thinned. SOLUTION: This multi-directional input device is equipped with an operating shaft 12 held so as to be slidable in multi-directions, two actuating plates 13, 14 connected to the operating shaft 12 to horizontally rotate in accordance with sliding action of the operating shaft, a rotation angle detecting sensor to detect the rotation angle of the two actuating plates 13, 14, and an operation part 15C to compute the position of the operating shaft 12 from the rotation angle of the two actuating plates 13, 14 detected by the rotation angle detecting sensor.
