A golf tee has a receipt portion (3) on top (where the golf ball rests prior to striking with a golf club), a cylindrical shaft portion (1), and a tapered bottom portion (2) for insertion into the ground for the purposes of anchoring and is not longer than four inches in length as set forth in Rule 1 1-1 by both the Royal and Ancient Golf Association (RA) in St. Andrews, Scotland, UK, and the United States Golf Association (USGA) in the United States of America. With Tee By The Numbers TM the cylindrical shaft portion has eight grooved rings (5) whereby a height Iimiter device (7) (an inverted cup design with squared edge and a hole in the middle) is used to adjust the height of the ball. The height Iimiter device snaps into any one grooved ring (spaced at least 1/4' apart). The cylindrical shaft has numbers one through eight, from top to bottom, either embedded or imprinted on each on the side of the tee shaft identifying each groove. |
