Methods and compositions for introducing a RNAi agent into a target cell are provided. In the subject methods, a target cell is first harvested from a living subject, e.g., a mammal. The RNAi agent is then introduced into the target cell, e.g., where the agent may be present in a vector, to produce a RNAi agent containing target cell. The resultant RNAi agent containing cell is then returned to the subject. Also provided are systems and kits for use in practicing the subject methods. The subject methods and compositions find use in a variety of different applications where administration of a RNAi agent to a subject is desired, including the treatment of disease conditions, such as pathogen induced disease conditions, particularly viral pathogen induced disease conditions, e.g., HIV induced disease conditions. |
