A Coanda-effect jet type sprinkler includes a sprinkler body (5), a spraying pipe (6), a rotary sealing mechanism, a limiting ring (3), a directional selecting mechanism (4) and a jet element (8),wherein the jet element (8) is composed of a reversing air-supply joint (9), a signal-water joint (10), an outlet cover plate (11), a signal-water nozzle inlet (12) and a flow-induction pipe (13). The signal-water joint (10) and the reversing air-supply joint (9) under the signal-water joint (10) are provided on one side of the outer wall of the jet element (8), and the signal-water nozzle inlet (12) is arranged on the other side. The signal-water joint (10) is connected with the signal water nozzle inlet (12) via the flow-induction pipe (13). The outlet cover plate (11) is mounted on the jet element (8). Signal water from the signal-water nozzle inlet (12) acts on one side of the main jet to form discontinuously a low-pressure vortex area. When the reversing air-supply joint (9) opens or closes, the other side of the main jet switches between high and low pressure. This causes a pressure difference to form on either side of the main jet, and causes Coanda-effect flow which induces the sprinkler to turn from straight to intermediate to reverse outlet flow.
