A method of purchasing contents by using a mobile terminal, a system thereof and the mobile terminal therefor are provided to temporally divide contents purchase and download, thereby preventing inconvenience that a user waits for download for a long time. A digital copyright of contents that a user wants to purchase is selected through a contents automatic vending machine(110) and local area radio communication. The contents automatic vending machine sells a digital copyright. The mobile terminal purchases the digital copyright. The mobile terminal downloads the digital copyright of the purchased contents. The mobile terminal connects to a contents server(140) by using the digital copyright of the downloaded contents. The mobile terminal downloads the contents.
