A method for measuring rainfall intensity is provided to accurately measure rainfall intensity by classifying period into short and long durations. A method for measuring rainfall intensity comprises the steps of estimating a plurality of parameters by applying a plurality of objective functions; computing a plurality of rainfall intensity values by applying duration, recurrence period and a plurality of parameters; and applying a plurality rainfall intensity values respectively for the classified period.
