<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact display panel capable of reducing the backlash of display, in a display panel with a nonrectangular display area. <P>SOLUTION: The display area with a determined display range is non-rectangular; a pixel arranged within the display area is so constituted of three sub-pixels, with the shape of each sub-pixel being regular-hexagon as to the three sub-pixels and the center of the three sub-pixels constituting a single pixel being arranged to form a right triangle; the display area is formed within a sealed area; the sub-pixel having one part overlapping the display area is noncolored-drive-displayed; and the sealed area is provided so as to include the noncolored-drive displayed sub-pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
