PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the strength of a hub without resulting in an increase in the weight of a gear case, the generation of a sink in a stiffening rib and the corrosion of the stiffening rib. SOLUTION: A wiper motor has a motor body and a decelerating mechanism, and these motor body and decelerating mechanism are housed in a bottomed cylindrical yoke and the gear case 15 made of an aluminum die casting. An output shaft for the decelerating mechanism is projected to the rear side of the gear case 15, and the hub 29 supporting the output shaft is fitted to a rear-side gear case 15a. A boss 30 for clamping and fixing the rear-side gear case 15a to a frame (a section to be fitted) for a wiper device is fitted around the hub 29. The stiffening rib 32 connecting the hub 29 and the boss 30 is fitted to the rear-side gear case 15a. The stiffening rib 32 is formed in a trapezoidal cross section, and has a trapezoidal sectional wall-thickness notched section 32a opened in the gear case 15.
