PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable field magnet motor having a simple device configuration, which can change motor characteristics with good responsiveness. SOLUTION: The variable field magnet motor M is provided with: a stator 20 provided movably with respect to a rotor 10; and a stator moving means 30 for displacing the stator 20, wherein the stator moving means 30 has a wire 31 having one end coupled to the stator 20, a windup member 35 for displacing the other end of the wire 31 and a drive force generating means 36 for rotating the windup member 35, and the windup member 35 is configured so that the windup radius thereof decreases in accordance with an increase in a rotation angle to reduce the windup quantity of the wire 31 in accordance with an increase in the rotation angle of the windup member 35. Further, the windup member 35 is configured so that the windup radius in each rotation angle can be adjusted in order to move the stator 20 to keep a change rate of a motor rotation speed constant for the rotation of the windup member 35.
