PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector for relay capable of improving work efficiency in recycling. SOLUTION: When a mating side optical connector 2 is fitted to the optical connector 1 for relay, ferrules 7, 8 of the mating side optical connector 2 are inserted on the name side of a first ferrule 16 and a second ferrule 17 of an optical fiber assembly 6 projected on a connector fitting part 23. Optical fiber end faces thereby face each other, to conduct optical coupling. Since a bent part 21 of the optical fiber 15 for relaying the optical fiber assembly 6 abuts against an abutting part 22 of an inner housing 13, when the first and second ferrules 16, 17 are pushed in backward, the bent part 21 is bent; and the first and second ferrules 16, 17 are pushed back forward by this reaction.
