PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer belt device which can stably run over a long period of time by preventing toner from being accumulated on a pressing member, etc. and the inside of an image forming apparatus from being contaminated due to the scattering of the toner, while preventing: the deviation due to the meandering, etc. of an intermediate transfer belt being an endless belt; and damage due to contact with a regulating member, etc. and to provide the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The transfer belt device has: the pressing member 50 for regulating the deviation of the intermediate transfer belt 15 by a butting member 26 arranged in the end portion of a driving roller 20 stretching the intermediate transfer belt 15, in the end portion of the intermediate transfer belt 15, and for pressing in the vertical direction of the intermediate transfer belt 15 in at least one end portion of the belt; and a cleaning blade 31a for cleaning the toner on the intermediate transfer belt 15.
