PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a bridge capable of safely constructing the bridge at high working efficiency using a considerably lightweight construction device without using a large construction device, having excellent construction efficiency, and hardly subjected to restriction by a terrain and traffic at a point where the bridge is constructed, and also provide a construction device. SOLUTION: This method for constructing a bridge comprises a first step of lifting a bridge block 1 in a lifting frame 12 rotatable in the longitudinal direction of an existing bridge 2, a second step of moving the entire bridge block 1 in the extending direction of the existing bridge 2 beyond the extending end of the existing bridge 2 by rotating around the rotating axis of a hinge 16, a third step of disposing the bridge block 1 at a position where the bridge block is connected to the projecting end of the existing bridge 2 by lowering the bridge block 1, and a fourth step of extending and constructing the bridge by connecting the rear end of the bridge block 1 in the extending direction of the existing bridge 2 to the extending end of the existing bridge 2.
