PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic electrodeposition coating method which can shorten a period of time needed for carrying out a step for heating and curing an uncured electrodeposition film formed on an electrically conductive material to be coated such as a steel plate. SOLUTION: The cationic electrodeposition coating method includes an electrodeposition coating step for electrodepositing the cationic electrodeposition coating material composition on the electrically conductive material to be coated and an electrodeposited coating film curing step. A heating apparatus 1A is an induction heating apparatus for heating the electrically conductive material 100 to be coated using electromagnetic induction and comprises a coil 2 of an induction heating mean for heating the electrically conductive material 100 and a power source apparatus 5 provided with a power output means for outputting the power to the induction heating means and a power control means for controlling the strength of the outputted power. The power control means is for controlling the power output means to intermittently output a first heating power capable of heating the electrically conductive material to be coated with a certain interval.
