PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weatherstrip for an automobile firmly attachable to the whole circumference of a body flange having different thickness in a stable posture. SOLUTION: The weatherstrip for the automobile with a roughly U-shaped cross section having a bottom wall 11, a first sidewall 12 and a second sidewall 13, is formed along the peripheral part of an opening part M formed on the body of the automobile and mounted on the body flange 2 having a thick-wall part 2a and a thin-wall part 2b. The weatherstrip comprises a fitting base portion 10 with claw parts 15 locked into the body flange 2 projected from the inner surfaces of at least the terminal ends of the first sidewall 12 and the second sidewall 13, and a hollow seal part 20 molded integrally with the fitting base portion 10. The terminal end/ends of the first sidewall 12 or/and the second sidewall 13 constituting the fitting base portion 10 attached on the thin-wall part 2b of the body flange 2 or/and the second sidewall 13 is bent inwardly to be a bending part 14.
