PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metallic carrier having a honeycomb structure particularly, with which the assembling step of the metallic carrier can be simplified. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the metallic carrier which has the honeycomb structure formed by brazing a plurality of plate-shaped bodies and on which a catalyst can be deposited, comprises: a clad sheet manufacturing step of manufacturing a clad sheet 1 having a sheet-shaped base material 21 made of a metallic material and a clad layer 22 which is formed on at least one side of the sheet-shaped base material and has a brazing filler metal composition, by press-fixing powder 2 having the brazing filler metal composition to at least one side of the sheet-shaped base material 21 made of the metallic material and sintering or melting the press-fixed powder 2 between rolling rollers 4A, 4B; the assembling step of assembling the honeycomb structure by using the clad sheet as at least one of the plurality of the plate-shaped bodies; and a heating step of heating the honeycomb structure assembled at the assembling step at the temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of the powder.
