PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller of a sewing machine which employs a DC motor, the motor controller enabling the motor to supply electric power providing sufficient through force to a sewing needle regardless of the speed of rotation of the motor without requiring an increase in the capacity of a power source circuit, while achieving full utilization of the output of a power source device. SOLUTION: The motor controller 20 of the sewing machine for controlling the sewing machine motor 11 includes speed detection means 41, a controller 18, PID calculating means 42, a limit value table 45, a remaining force counter 44 and operation amount limiting means 43.
