Disclosed are compounds of formula (I-a1) and (I-b-1), wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification, and processes for their preparation. The compounds are aminobenzimidazoles and benzimidazoles useful for inhibiting respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) replication.
