PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved information processing apparatus capable of saving capacity of a recording medium by automatically deleting position information temporally corresponding to a content when the content is deleted. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus in which a content and position information generated independently of each other are recorded in a recording medium comprises a deletion unit deleting the position information temporally associated with the content from the recording medium when the content is deleted from the recording medium.
