PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a connection with another communication apparatus without transmitting a beacon when beacon slots during a period in which timing synchronism is established by transmitting and receiving the beacons are occupied. SOLUTION: In a communication system in which a plurality of communication apparatus form a network and communicate with one another, a communication apparatus transmits and receives the beacon to and from other communication apparatus to establish timing synchronism. The communication apparatus determines whether the beacon slots for transmitting the beacon are occupied, and when the beacon slots are occupied, connects to another communication apparatus without transmitting the beacon.
