PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light receiving amplifier having a plurality of gain switches and exhibiting good high frequency characteristics by increasing density and speed of an optical disc media. SOLUTION: In the light receiving amplifier comprising a light receiving element 1, and an amplifier circuit 2 for amplifying a current from the light receiving element 1. The amplifier circuit 2 is provided with a feedback resistor circuit between the input and the output. The feedback resistor circuit has a resistor 22 and a variable resistor. The resistor 22 has one end connected with the joint of the light receiving element 1 and the input of the amplifier circuit 2, and the other end connected with one end of the variable resistor having the other end connected with the output of the amplifier circuit 2.
