PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a macromolecular compound giving a light emitting element and the like having a low driving voltage, and obtaining sufficient light emitting performance. SOLUTION: A conjugated polymer compound having a metal complex residue is represented by formula (1) where X is a halogen atom, R1-R10are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, an aryloxy group, a monovalent heterocyclic group or a halogen atom, M is iridium, platinum, osmium, ruthenium, palladium, rhodium, rhenium, or cobalt, n is 1 or 2, and L is a mono or bivalent heterocyclic group.
