PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin which has a high content of living organism-originating substances, exhibits both good heat resistance and good thermal stability and is useful as an industrial material with excellent hue. SOLUTION: This polycarbonate resin comprises a carbonate constitutional unit expressed with formula (1). The total amount of ratios of containing specific carbon-carbon double bond components at the polymer end is 0.3% or less for the carbonate constitutional unit, and the b-value obtained by measuring 15-weight% chlorination methylene solution of the polycarbonate resin with the optical path of 30 mm is 5.0 or less.
